Newgate app privacy policy
Last updated 16 October 2026
This policy covers the Newgate Wellness app for iPhone and iPad, made by Newgate Labs Limited ("Newgate", "we"). The short version: the app keeps everything on your device, and we do not run a server that receives your information.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you enter in the app is stored only on your device, in the app's own storage:
- Your account. If you sign in with Apple, the app keeps the name and email address Apple provides (or the private relay address if you chose to hide your email) so it can greet you and show them in Account. If you sign in with Facebook, it keeps your name, email address and a copy of your profile picture, which Facebook shares with your permission. If you continue as a guest, nothing is stored about who you are. The app has no account system of its own and nothing is sent to Newgate.
- Your routine and history. The supplements and medicines you add to the tracker, the times you take them, what you have ticked off, your streak and pack counts.
- Health check entries. Blood-test results and daily intake figures you type in. These never leave your device and are not sent to Newgate or anyone else.
- Your choices. Goals, favourites, basket, 21-day plan progress, region, language, appearance and reminder settings.
- Your profile photo. If you choose one, the app keeps a copy of that photo in its own storage. It does not read the rest of your photo library.
Deleting the app removes all of it. You can also remove it yourself at any time fromAccount → Delete my data, which clears everything the app has stored. Seedeleting your data.
What the app does not do
- It does not collect analytics or usage statistics.
- It does not show advertising and does not use advertising identifiers.
- It does not track you across other apps or websites.
- It does not sell, share or transfer your information to anyone.
Permissions, and why the app asks
- Notifications. Only if you turn on reminders. Reminders are scheduled on your device by the app itself; there is no push server.
- Location. Only in the "Where to buy" map, only while you are using it, and only if you tap the location button. It is used on your device to sort the nearest pharmacies first. It is never stored or sent anywhere.
- Photos. Only if you choose a profile picture, and only for the photo you pick.
Other services you may reach from the app
Some parts of the app open content from other companies. Their privacy policies apply when you use them:
- Amazon. "Buy on Amazon" and the basket hand over to amazon.co.uk in your browser or the Amazon app. Newgate does not see what you buy.
- YouTube. The Learn films are played with YouTube's embedded player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may set cookies and collect usage information when a film plays, under Google's privacy policy.
- Facebook. If you choose "Continue with Facebook", you sign in on Facebook's own page, and Facebook shares your name, email address and profile picture with the app once. The app does not keep the Facebook sign-in or contact Facebook again. You can remove Newgate from your Facebook settings at any time.
- Apple Maps. "Directions" opens Maps on your device.
- WhatsApp. In editions that order through WhatsApp, "Order on WhatsApp" opens WhatsApp with your list written out; nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp.
- newgate.org.uk. Magazine pages and film artwork are loaded from our website. Our web server sees the ordinary technical details of that request (such as your IP address) and nothing else.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address, with the date updated above.
